UNCONDITIONAL LOVE
Yet he was merciful; he forgave their iniquities and did not destroy them. Time after time he restrained his anger and did not stir up his full wrath.
Psalm 78:38
God truly has the heart of a Father. The prodigal son went on his reckless journey, embarrassing his father and family by doing that. Regardless, the father loved his son, looked out onto the road, and waited for him to come home. Did the son deserve such love? Absolutely not. Would honor have required the father to punish his son severely? Certainly would have. When father’s love is deep enough, people’s judgments mean nothing. One thing remains: the son is his father’s son, and that will not change. He takes back the revert as a child, not as a hireling, and organizes amazing feast. – This is exactly how God the Father loves everyone who has gone his own way.
